Jhune Salud and his team are composed of dynamic, young, creative, and passionate individuals. The team accommodates your every need and exhibits a very humored and friendly conservations. Its not just transactions made with a wedding planner but a journey made with friends. |
The above copy was lifted from Mr Jhune Salud's official website which looks pretty enough to convince viewers about his legitimacy in the events planning industry but hasn't been updated in maybe the last four or five years. Still, that hasn't stopped me and my fiancee from getting his services as our December wedding's official planner.
What started out with a couple of e-mail and SMS exchanges soon turned into the real thing when, after my family trip to Singapore (and even prior), Jhune would always leave messages on when we could meet and how he is available for our wedding in case we're interested. Honestly, we've been browsing around several coordinators the last few weeks and couldn't really decide on who or which team to get.
They're all the same right? I mean, the ones who have been in the industry the last ten years or so, they're probably legit right?
Wrong.
I read several horror stories online. Angry brides. Disappointed grooms. Bored and unattended guests.
And worse-- lost gifts!
So after another slow Friday at work, I opted to meet Jhune at The Wedding Library, SM Mall of Asia. I was late by an hour for our 7 p.m. appointment, he stepped out to have dinner (understandably) and made me wait maybe 10 to 15 minutes at the shop which had cute, wedding paraphernalia on one side, and kinky sex toys (edible condoms, sex dice, vibrators and strap ons the other).
Once he arrived, everything was light. To me, he looked like a skinnier, better looking Rey Pumaloy. I don't know. I have this weird way of describing people. He doesn't really look like Rey Pumaloy. Maybe more like a whiter Ate Glow-- you know, that PGMA impersonator from UP? Yeah, that sounds about right.
We talked for maybe an hour and a half on what I wanted (based on what the fiancee wanted of course), the difference between On the Day and partial coordination and crew meals. We were kind of throwing wedding theme ideas at one another which was kind of fun, but being the groom and not the bride, I don't really have a say on these things. You can check out his website for a rundown of the inclusions, and after you've signed the contract and all, he's going to hand you a nice, neatly prepared Wedding Preparation Kit-- something that ultimately helped seal the deal for me.
Anytime the person you're doing business with comes into a meeting more prepared (he had a spare Kit in hand) than you are, then you're in good hands. Specially if that person is going to be in charge of helping construct the biggest event in your life (prior to the birth of your kids of course).
I opted to get his services for partial coordination and he gave me a HUGE discount from his standard, published rate. The fact that I paid for almost 80% of the bill probably caught him off guard, but I wanted this to be done and over with so I could concentrate on the other, pressing details.
No, wait, that's what we have him and his team for from here on out. :)
We'll probably start talking about the whole thing in detail come May, when the fiancee flies home.
